Ellington laces up sneakers to fight cancer
STATEHOUSE (Jan. 19, 2016) – State Rep. Jeff Ellington (R-Bloomington) paired his sneakers with his suit today at the Statehouse to help raise cancer awareness.
“Nothing would please me more than to see an end to cancer,” Ellington said. “According to the American Cancer Society, 2 in 5 Hoosiers will be diagnosed in their lifetime. I wanted to make a statement by wearing my sneakers to show my support for those diagnosed with cancer, including my father, who is battling this disease.”
The Suits and Sneakers challenge is an annual event sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches to help raise cancer awareness and support those affected by the disease.
Visit www.cancer.org for more information on how to help spread awareness and fight back against cancer.
Rep. Ellington (R-Bloomington) represents all of
Greene County and portions of Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties.
