Please include the following statement from State Rep. Doug Gutwein (R-Francesville) in your coverage of the Democrats announcing their intention to not show up to do the people’s work.

STATEHOUSE—“Minority Leader Bauer made a commitment to move forward and his caucus has walked out on their honor, responsibilities and constituents. There are a lot of good bills that will help Indiana – bills that the minority party not only support but helped draft. You can do nothing and nothing gets better. Or you can try something and try to make something better.

“The House Republicans are trying. We’re trying to work with the minority party. We’re trying to help our constituents make Indiana a better place. We are in our seats ready to work and the House Democrats continue to hold democracy hostage behind closed doors.”
