STATEHOUSE (July 6, 2017) – State Rep. Wes Culver (R-Goshen) was recently named to three summer study committees, which examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and recommend potential legislation.
Culver will serve as vice chair of the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations and as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight and the Indiana Tourism Council.
“This summer the pension management committee will be studying pension programs and increasing access and the participation of public employees in retirement savings programs,” Culver said. “All of my study committees will be exploring issues to see if there’s a need for new laws that we could pass during the 2018 legislative session. It’s a good practice to work out as many details as we can before we take recommendations to the Indiana General Assembly during the legislative session.”
Culver said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
