He was also named to the House Committee on Family, Children and Human Affairs and the House Committee on Government and Regulatory Reform.
“With my background as an educator, I will be able to use my experience to foster and inform discussions in the House Committee on Education,” Cook said. “As a former school superintendent, I have experience working with local and state government, as well as working with all types of county, state and federal programs for families with children. I look forward to applying and sharing my expertise this coming session.”
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 4, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2017 legislative session.
