STATEHOUSE (March 28, 2016) — State Rep. Tony Cook (R-Cicero) congratulates Bonnie and Kenneth Harrold as Hoosier Homestead award recipients for 150 years of family farm ownership in Grant County.
“Agriculture plays a vital role in our economy,” Cook said. “Farming operations like the Harrold Farm provide jobs to hard-working Hoosiers while putting food on our tables. I wish the Harrold family continued success for the next 150 years.”
The Hoosier Homestead Award Program recognizes farms that have been owned and maintained by the same family for 100 years or more. The Harrold Farm has been in operation since 1864.
Two awards ceremonies are held each year, in the spring and summer, to commemorate the achievements of farmers across the state. For more information on the Hoosier Homestead Award Program, visit www.in.gov/isda/2337.htm.
Rep. Cook (R-Cicero) represents all of Tipton County and portions of Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Howard and Grant counties.
