Note to the Press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) in your coverage of Thursday's passage of House Bill 1001 out of the House Ways and Means Committee, which he serves as vice chair. The bill, supported by Cherry, outlines Indiana's next two-year $36.3 billion budget proposal. House Bill 1001 now moves to the full House for consideration:

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 12, 2021) – "Indiana's track record of fiscal responsibility and commitment to maintaining strong reserves continue to buffer us from the economic impacts of the pandemic, and we're recovering quicker and stronger than most other states. This two-year budget proposal lives within our means, while investing in opportunities that will help Indiana bounce back stronger than ever before. We're substantially increasing funding for our K-12 public schools, improving access to reliable, affordable broadband, and helping our small-business owners."
