Cherry reappointed vice chair of House Ways and Means Committee

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 11, 2020) – State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) was recently reappointed to serve as vice chair of the House Ways and Means Committee.

He will also serve on the House Elections and Apportionment Committee and the House Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee.

As vice chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, Cherry will play a key role in passing the state's next biennial budget.

"Passing Indiana's two-year budget is one of the most important tasks we do in the legislature," Cherry said. "As vice chair of this committee, I remain committed to once again supporting a fiscally responsible and honestly balanced budget."

As a member of the House Elections and Apportionment Committee, Cherry will also play a key role in drawing legislative and congressional boundaries based on 2020 Census data.

He said House standing committees will meet throughout the legislative session, which is scheduled to kick off on Jan. 4.
