STATEHOUSE (June 28, 2019) — State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) was recently selected to serve on the State Budget Committee and the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy.
“The Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy will be discussing topics such as state tax credits and issues related to affordable housing for the growing workforce,” Cherry said. “Committees provide opportunities for lawmakers to further examine topics outside of session in order to have a better understanding of what potential legislative action should be recommended.”
As a member of the State Budget Committee, Cherry will work to advise, oversee and analyze budgetary matters impacting the state.
He was also named chair of the State Fair Advisory Committee.
Cherry said committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
