Note to the Press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Bob Cherry (R-Greenfield) in your coverage of Gov. Eric Holcomb signing House Enrolled Act 1001, the state’s biennial budget, into law Thursday.

STATEHOUSE (April 27, 2017) — “This is a budget that Indiana can be proud of. We maintained a balanced budget that ensures our state continues to live within its means – just as hardworking Hoosiers do every day. While funding our priorities, like education and public safety, we maintained our crucial reserves to protect taxpayers in the event of an economic downturn.”

Rep. Cherry represents House District 53, which

includes portions of Hancock and Madison counties.

He serves as Vice Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.
