STATEHOUSE (Oct. 25, 2017) — State Rep. Douglas Gutwein (R-Francesville) is reminding local officials to fill out an online questionnaire by Tuesday, Oct. 31, as part of an ongoing initiative to improve government efficiency.
Local officials can submit information on ways to streamline or eliminate any state reporting or information requirements, while also reducing the regulatory burden on Hoosiers, local governments and businesses. The initiative was launched by Gutwein, chair of the House Select Committee on Government Reduction, in coordination with Accelerate Indiana’s Municipalities and the Association of Indiana Counties.
“We have received many thoughtful responses so far, but it’s important for local officials in every community to weigh in,” Gutwein said. “With the survey open for only a few more days, we want to make sure we are reaching as many local officials as possible since these efforts to streamline government processes can impact them and the folks in their communities directly.”
Gutwein said the data collected will be used to draft potential legislation for the 2018 legislative session.
Local officials can access the survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/localgovreport. Gutwein added that the survey should only take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
State Rep. Douglas Gutwein (R-Francesville) represents House District 16, which includes all of
Pulaski County and portions of Fulton, Jasper, Newton and Starke counties.
