Note to the Press: Please include the following statement from House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) in your coverage of Gov. Eric Holcomb’s announcement today with Delta Air Lines regarding the launch of a new direct flight from Indianapolis to Paris. Bosma attended and spoke at the announcement at the Indianapolis International Airport along with Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and officials from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. In 2016, the Indiana General Assembly appropriated $15 million a year to the IEDC to support business promotion and innovation, which included incentivizing direct flights from Indiana airports.

STATEHOUSE (Sept. 6, 2017) – “As Hoosier companies search for top-level talent and international businesses look for areas to grow their operations, it’s critical that Indiana offers fast and easy travel connections with global commercial hubs. This new, year-round flight to Paris, the gateway to Europe, is a major boost to our state’s overall competitive advantage, and further supports the European-owned companies that we want to continue to attract and that currently employ over 60,000 Hoosiers statewide.”
