Note to the Press: Please include the following statement from House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) in your coverage of today’s announcement on Governor-elect Eric Holcomb selecting Jim Schellinger to serve as Indiana Secretary of Commerce for his administration. Schellinger will replace outgoing Indiana Secretary of Commerce Victor Smith, who has filled his four-year commitment with Gov. Mike Pence.

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 8, 2016) – “Secretary of Commerce Victor Smith’s outstanding leadership has helped Indiana make great strides to improve its top-ranked business climate, attract billions of dollars in investments and create thousands of much-needed jobs. With Governor-elect Eric Holcomb’s selection of Jim Schellinger for this critical post, Hoosiers can rest assured we will continue to build on our economic success story. I’m confident Jim’s experience as the IEDC president and his years of experience as a business leader will help him make a seamless transition into this new role, and I look forward to working together to keep Indiana on a positive track.”
