STATEHOUSE (June 20, 2018) ― House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced interim committee assignments today for members of the Indiana House of Representatives.
Members of Indiana’s part-time legislature work throughout the summer and fall months preparing for the next legislative session by serving on interim committees and conducting deep dives on policy issues.
“The interim is a critical time for lawmakers to research and vet complex policy issues, and gather input from stakeholders before making recommendations for new laws,” Bosma said. “We have a wide-range of issues on the table this year and a tough budget session ahead of us, and I know legislators are looking forward to rolling up their sleeves and getting back to work.”
Many interim committees will begin meeting in July with a majority of work being concluded by the end of October. The list of 2018 interim study committee assignments and other legislative appointments can be found here.
