Note to the Press: Please include the following statement from House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) in your coverage of Gov. Eric Holcomb’s announcement today that local governments across Indiana will receive over $150 million in state matching grants for road and bridge improvements. In 2016, lawmakers passed legislation creating the Community Crossings Grant Program and its success led to the program’s expansion this year. Over 300 cities and towns, and 75 counties were awarded funds for projects like road and bridge preservation, road reconstruction and intersection improvements.

STATEHOUSE (Sept. 20, 2017) – “The Community Crossings Grant Program has proven to be a tremendous win for communities large and small, especially as they look to stretch their dollars further to repair and modernize their roads and bridges. Hoosiers are starting to see road construction signs across Indiana as our state and local governments work together to improve quality of life and attract more job creators. Our hope is to maintain this momentum moving forward to match Indiana’s incredible economic growth and solidify our reputation as the Crossroads of America.”
