STATEHOUSE (June 23, 2016) ― House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced the 2016 interim committee assignments for members of the Indiana House of Representatives.
Indiana’s part-time legislature continues its work throughout the summer and fall months while session is adjourned. Members are assigned to interim committees, which are tasked with reviewing the state’s top issues.
“These committees give legislators an opportunity to collaborate with industry experts and members of the public to explore and identify possible legislative solutions,” Bosma said. “Much of the work done in the interim provides the foundation for policy proposals next session.”
Many interim committees will begin meeting in July with a majority of their work concluded by the end of October.
