Start Date: 11/16/2010 All Day
End Date: 11/16/2010
STATEHOUSE - Today marks Organization Day where all 100 members of the House, including 19 new State Representatives, were sworn in by Chief Justice Shepard.  The newly elected Speaker of the House, Brian C. Bosma stated, "we must think anew and act anew - I pledge to you that I will do my duty, and ask you to do the same."

State Representative Mike Speedy (R - Indianapolis) was one of the newly elected State Reps.  "There are many challenges ahead of us, without a doubt we will have some challenging times ahead of us. I look forward to trying to tackle some of the tough issues like balancing the budget without raising taxes and expanding educational options for Hoosier families," sincerely said Speedy.

In September, the House Republican Caucus released their legislative plan, addressing Jobs, Education, Spending, and Standing Up to Washington, DC. At the time, Leader Bosma also noted that he wanted to 'reach across the aisle' and 'bring civility back to the house chamber'. Today, Speaker Bosma reinforced the legislative plan, and the importance of working together for the future of Indiana.

"I am continuously humbled by the opportunity to serve my community and I look forward to serving my district to the best of my ability," said Rep. Speedy.
