Local farm family to be recognized at State Fair

The Indiana State Fair, which has been designated the "Year of the Farmer," kicks-off this Friday and runs through Aug. 23. To honor and celebrate our state's agricultural industry, each day of the fair will recognize a farmer or farm family who represents different segments of Indiana agriculture.

Karlanea and Daryl Brown, aquaculture farm operators from Benton County, will be honored on Monday, August 17.

I am happy that the Brown family was chosen to represent our local farming community at the State Fair and applaud their hard work and dedication to making sure Indiana's agricultural industry remains strong.

Along with all the hardworking farmers and farm families around the state, their commitment to agriculture is essential to growing the Hoosier economy and continuing to build upon our state's strong fiscal foundation.
