It has been my honor to serve the people of District 49 in the Indiana General Assembly. My goal each session is to accurately represent the concerns that are most important to our thriving community. I am continually looking for ways to improve the economic conditions in Elkhart County.
At the Statehouse, I will continue to fight to bring jobs to Northern Indiana, lower taxes. I ran for this office to be a voice for those who feel government has grown too big, increases too many taxes and stifles job growth with unnecessary laws. My hope as your State Representative is that I will have an opportunity to meet with many members of our community and address the concerns that they have. Your feedback helps me assess the issues that are most important to our district.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any thoughts, questions or concerns that you may have. If you are interested in receiving information about issues in the state government affecting our community, I encourage you to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and request to be added to my email sign up. You will receive communication providing details on major issues in session as well as updates on what I am doing to improve our community.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or thoughts.

State Representative Wes Culver has resided in northern Indiana since 1960, making him the perfect man to represent the community of Elkhart County. He was raised on a duck farm in Middlebury, IN where he was instilled with values of hard work, personal responsibility, family, frugality and service to others. These values directly translated into his work as a business owner as well as a state legislator. Along with the businesses which he has started and owns, Rep. Culver started a few non-profit organizations including:
Legacy Child which helps families with adoption expenses
Shalom House which gets builders and supplies to build a home, sell and give the money to MennoniteWorld Relief
New Harvest Ministries, which was a Christian teaching ministry to young adults and school age students in Northern Indiana for 10 years
Rep. Culver faithfully pursues a successful business career, but while doing that he has constantly sought other ways to serve others through numerous church, para-church and social service agencies. He is also a member of the World Missionary Press Board. Rep. Culver has twice taken 3 year periods away from his business to be a pastor. He also enjoys motorcycling, snowboarding and running marathons. In 1980 he married his wife, Val. Together they have three children: Craig, Chelsea and Cydney.
House District 49 consists of the eastern portion of Elkhart County in northern Indiana.
STATEHOUSE (July 14, 2017) – “The Next Level Roads Plan is the first step to build and strengthen Indiana’s infrastructure for the long term. Under the five-year plan, Elkhart County will receive nearly $46 million, which will go toward projects including the resurfacing of over 200 miles of lanes and repairing or replacing more than 30 bridges.
The 2016 legislative session is here and I would like your feedback on several important issues.
I am committed to keeping the momentum going this session as we work
toward developing a responsible, comprehensive and sustainable plan to maintain and improve our roads and bridges. As the Crossroads of America, our infrastructure plays a key role in our state's economy.
STATEHOUSE - “I supported House Bill 1001, Indiana’s biennial budget, as it keeps education our top priority and creates the largest increase to education funding in our state’s history. Additionally, our budget invests $59 million in new money to help reduce recidivism and support community correction programs all while remaining true to our values of fiscal integrity.
STATEHOUSE – State Representative Wes Culver (R-Goshen) authored legislation that would allow terminally ill patients to try a drug or treatment that has gone through the first stage of approval for use. House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1065 was signed into law by Governor Pence.
