Representative Jeff Ellington is a long-time resident of Bloomington and has always had an interest in making his community a better place. The district he represents includes most of Greene County and portions of Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties.
For more than 35 years, Rep. Ellington has been a vital part of his community through the ownership of his small business and he now looks to apply his experience in helping Indiana cut government waste and save taxpayer revenue. Additionally, he will work to reduce government regulation and continue creating a more business-friendly atmosphere in Indiana.
He was also a member of the Monroe County Council as well as the former Monroe County Recorder. Rep. Ellington is a husband and father of two children. He is also retired as a rescue technician from his local fire department.
He is a former baseball and hockey coach and sponsors local sports teams – Little League through high school.
House District 62 is made up of the majority of Greene County and portions of Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties in south western Indiana.

Eric Holcomb’s announcement of $22.1 million in funding for broadband expansion projects across the state. This funding will provide broadband infrastructure to more than 4,800 homes and commercial locations in 12 counties, including Bean Blossom and Bloomington townships in Monroe County, as part of the initial round of the Next Level Broadband program. Ellington supported the state’s budget, which allows funds to be used for awarding broadband grants to rural areas:

I would like to take this time to introduce myself as the new state representative for House District 62. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve our community in this new role.
As I begin my term as representative, I encourage you to stay in touch throughout the upcoming session. I am committed to keeping Indiana moving forward as we work toward developing a responsible, comprehensive and sustainable plan to maintain and improve our transportation infrastructure. As the Crossroads of America, our roads and bridges play a key role in our state's economy.
INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 5, 2015) — Jeff Ellington of Bloomington took the oath of office today to serve as state representative for House District 62.
Indiana Supreme Court Justice Loretta H. Rush administered the oath in the House Chamber of the Statehouse during a formal swearing-in ceremony. House District 62 includes all of Greene County and portions of Monroe, Martin and Daviess counties.
