The Indiana General Assembly has reached halftime of the 2025 legislative session. At this point, the House of Representatives will consider bills that passed the Senate, while they do the same for our bills. I authored a variety of bills covering a wide array of issues, from health care to economic development and furthering sports tourism.
Here are the some of the bills I worked on that passed the House:
I authored House Bill 1453 this session to establish the Pediatric Cancer Research and Treatment Grant program, focusing on providing grant funding for innovative research into novel forms of treatment. This is a major step forward in the fight against pediatric cancer. This legislation would establish a dedicated grant program to support innovation and improve outcomes for children battling cancer, helping more families and kids get a fighting chance. I'm grateful for the strong support from my colleagues in the House and look forward to seeing this bill move forward in the Senate.
The Indiana House passed State Rep. Julie McGuire's (R-Indianapolis) legislation strengthening transparency and accountability in health care provider ownership to help protect patient care over profit.
As a new legislator, it's hard to believe the first half of the 2025 legislative session is already here.
