STATEHOUSE (Jan. 19, 2016) – State Rep. Jerry Torr (R-Carmel) paired his sneakers with his suit at the Statehouse to help raise cancer awareness.
“In 2015 it was estimated that 13,420 Indiana residents died of cancer,” Torr said. “Every year we hold this event, and I truly feel that it is a great opportunity for us to show members of our community who are affected by this horrific disease that we support them.”
The Suits and Sneakers challenge is an annual event sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches to help raise cancer awareness and support those affected by the disease.
