STATEHOUSE— House Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) announced the 2015 interim study committee assignments. State Rep. Jim Baird (R-Greencastle) was appointed to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources.
“Farms and the agriculture industry are extremely important in our state,” said Rep. Baird. “I’m ready to look at issues facing the agriculture industry and finding solutions to lessen the burden on Hoosier farmers.”
Interim study committees are an integral part of the legislative process. The Legislative Council meets every summer to assign topics for study during the interim, and these committees will consult experts and gather public testimony to prepare for the 2016 session.
“It is privilege to serve on this committee, and I will work diligently to best represent our rural community at the Statehouse,” said Rep. Baird.
