STATEHOUSE- Rep. Jim Baird (R-Greencastle) applauds Putnam County for its increase in job opportunities. It was announced that businesses in Putnam County committed to more than $61 billion in investments and commitment for the creation of close to 500 jobs from 2012 to 2015. The announcement included Illinois-based Phoenix Closures expanding to the county and planning to create 90 jobs.
“These are welcome announcements for Putnam County,” said Rep. Baird. “Indiana’s job climate is an extremely attractive one and these companies’ expansion in the area highlights that positive climate. With so many Hoosiers unemployed, job growth in the state and specifically in Putnam County is crucial to get Hoosiers back to work.”
Phoenix Closures of Naperville, Ill. is currently renovating and expanding its facility to generate closures for the food, beverage and consumer products markets. The company expects to employ 90 people at full production levels.

- Magic Circle Corporation has leased the Greencastle Shell Building to support their local manufacturing operations.
- Liberty Industries in Fillmore has also expanded their facility and added new manufacturing equipment.
