I am truly humbled by the opportunity to represent my hometown of Leo and the surrounding area in the General Assembly. As an undergraduate at IU, Rep. Cox served in numerous campus governance capacities, including as student body president for IU's nearly 40,000 students. During law school, he was appointed to the Indiana University Board of Trustees by Governor Mitch Daniels, where he served on committees relating to facility improvement and academic affairs.

Rep. Cox returned to Northeast Indiana after law school as a lawyer with the law firm of Beers Mallers Backs & Salin, where he advises small businesses, nonprofits and local governments on a range of issues, including asset and stock acquisitions, tax-exempt status, public access issues and government efficiency. He takes great pride in helping small businesses start from an idea to a working enterprise and his work with local governments has revealed the value that government closest to the people provides to its constituents.

Rep. Cox served six terms as a commissioner on the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission as an appointee of Fort Wayne City Council and serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Allen County – Fort Wayne Historical Society. He is a member of and past moderator for Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana's forum for electoral candidates.

In his free time, Rep. Cox enjoys reading about history and current events, running and playing basketball. He has completed the Columbus and Chicago Marathons. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his family. Rep. Cox resides in Fort Wayne with his wife, Melissa, and children, Adrianne and Andrew.
